The Trinity

Some spiritual concepts are mysteries…taken on faith, unable to be explained.  I wondered though how could I visualize one of the main concepts of Christianity, namely the Trinity – One God in three persons – One substance; three essences.

THE TRINITY

By

2012

 I gaze at sunlight glistening on The Water; dancing, shimmering explosions of Light dazzling the eyes.

I envision GOD…unable to be contained, like liquid mercury slipping through the fingers;

The Water – refreshing and life-giving;

Gentle, flowing, steady, powerful.

A Creative Force, carving something out of nothing.

I gaze at sunlight reflecting on The Frozen Lake; the Water of the winter season.

I envision JESUS… same substance, same GOD.

The frozen Lake – tangible, strong, a rock-like immoveable force;

Holding me up,

Then sacrificing; melting away into the same Life Force.

I gaze at sunlight peeking through Billows of light, steamy Mist; enveloping everything.

I envision the HOLY SPIRIT…arising out of the same substance of GOD of the Lake.

The Vaporous Mist – unstoppable, rising above, and dissipating into the whole world;

Clearing to reveal truth and beauty;

Permeating the soul’s pores and leaving invigorating dew behind;

Evaporating into the heavens and falling back into the Lake, The Water.

Same substance, same God.

About ndrossowauthor

As long as I can remember I have written - poems, observations, stories. Then graduate school, marriage, raising a family, and work occupied my life 100% of the time, and my writing for pleasure took a back seat. Now, I'm back. Retirement from my professional life as a school psychologist, and university professor, grown children, and an empty nest have freed me to follow my passion. I write on topics at the intersection of psychology and spirituality. My debut novel, A DEEP PLACE OF GRACE will be released soon. I My wonderful husband of nearly 40+years encourages me and my God sustains me.
